How to Migrate from MyMonero to Cake Wallet
Bring your Monero (XMR) from MyMonero into Cake Wallet either by restoring your seed or by sending the funds to a fresh Cake Wallet address.
Before you start
- Make sure you can open your MyMonero wallet and see your current balance.
- Write down your MyMonero seed phrase and store it offline. Never share it with anyone or type it into a website you do not trust.
- Install the latest version of Cake Wallet on your device (see Get Started).
Option 1: Restore your MyMonero seed in Cake Wallet
- In MyMonero, open Settings and reveal your secret mnemonic (seed).
- In Cake Wallet, tap the wallet menu and choose Restore Wallet, then select Monero.
- Choose restoring from seed and enter your MyMonero seed exactly as shown, then confirm.
- Let the wallet synchronize. If your balance does not appear right away, run a rescan from the wallet's restore height.
If Cake Wallet does not accept your seed format, don't worry — simply use Option 2 below and move the funds with a regular transaction.
Option 2: Send your funds to a new Cake Wallet
- Create a new Monero wallet in Cake Wallet and back up its seed (see Create new wallet).
- Open the Receive screen in Cake Wallet and copy your new XMR address.
- In MyMonero, choose Send, paste the Cake Wallet address, and send your full balance (network fees are typically very small).
- Wait for confirmations — Monero funds unlock after 10 blocks, roughly 20 minutes.
After the migration
- Confirm the full balance is visible in Cake Wallet; use rescan if anything looks off.
- Keep your old MyMonero seed stored safely until you are certain everything arrived.
- Review the seed and keys page to back up your new wallet correctly.
